Nice adventure game. There are some interesting gimmicks, the level design is good and many of the screens are made in a way that you don't see everyday, the stages are well-themed, and the bosses are good. The last of these bosses is an avoidance, very good-looking and with fitting attacks, mixing RNG-heavy attacks with simple pattern ones.
The biggest issue with this game is that it's way too repetitive. And that kills the game. The stages have good level design, but the jumps are repeated so many times it's sickening. The last stage has one screen where you must do the same jump 18 times in a row, and the desert stage has one screen where you must destroy blocks while trying to not hit the spikes. There are more than 20 blocks, and each of these blocks takes 4 hits to break. And the repetitive stuff list goes on. The avoidance is good-looking, indeed, but it's also very repetitive and gets really predictable at some points (The RNG attacks are the opposite, they're extremely unpredictable, to the point where these attacks become mostly luck-based).
Another issue regards the traps. There are plenty of them, and many are at the most unfair possible places (Mostly after you finish a lenghty screen or a hard jump). They're generic and don't add anything to the platforming, just the boredom of going through everything over and over again.
Most of the game's difficulty comes from the Water/Ice stage's boss, Freezer. He's very frustrating, the first attacks are very pattern-heavy and the last one is extremely RNG-heavy. Flare is also RNG-heavy, but only at the beginning of the fight, the second half is easy, as long as you don't get distracted. Pandora is just pattern, it's repetitive as hell and very boring, but simple, and easy, once you know how to do it. B.E.P. is the old and good bouncing boss that shoots bouncing stuff that you can destroy, similar to Humantic's penultimate boss, but way harder, with more projectiles to destroy. It never gets unfair, though. And the avoidance is hard RNG + easy pattern, so the only boss that is completely unfair and frustrating is, indeed, Freezer.
I still like this game, but the traps, the repetitive screens and the unfair RNG of some bosses make it a lot worse than it should be. Not sure if I would recommend.

As Infern0 said, this game is possible with jump cancel. Difficulty rating is a bit random, since most of the game's difficulty comes from the jump cancelling itself (Learning how to jump cancel can be hell for some, but once you learn it, this game becomes laughably easy). Either way, the death effect is interesting, and it's good that the music doesn't restart, but that doesn't mean much if the platforming itself is this bad. Highly not recommended.

There are some interesting concepts, such as the stage with the tunnels. Sometimes the game trolls you in a funny way (Very rare). And some of the stages actually look good, really reminding you of a GB game. Few. And these are all the good things I can name about this game.
Traps are mostly generic, and most saves are so filled with them you don't even get to enjoy the platforming (A platforming that could be decent at some points). Water works like infinite jumping (Doesn't slow you down when you're falling), which makes me wonder how much does this Kid weigh. And that would still make a decent game, if it weren't for the bosses.
Bosses are always about mashing (Not including the chase), and since their HP is kinda high, this is very exhausting. Just to name some of them, we have: A bouncing Mario that attacks you with a rain of RNG bouncing cherries, plus more RNG bouncing cherries when you attack him, and he adds spikes to the fun if his HP is low; A laughing face that becomes a fist and connects his attacks in so many annoying ways that getting impossible/very hard to avoid RNG is almost casual; The last boss, with three phases: GB, GBA and NDS. It's all at once, glitchy, annoying, repetitive, boring, hard to learn, confusing, bad-looking, and overall made in the worst possible way.
All the bosses are bad-looking, and some of them are extremely glitchy (GB/GBA/NDS isn't the only one). Even Tribute was more enjoyable than this. Highly not recommended.

Short fangame split into 4 parts. The first part is a simple needle stage, with three screens of easy jumps. Then, there is a very short avoidance (20 seconds, or less), similar to those you'll see at some bosses of some medley games, such as K2, K3 and Series Z 2. This avoidance requires some tight maneuvering, but nothing too excessive.
The next part is a single screen that reminds me of an old NES game whose name I don't remember right now (It might probably be based on it), and follows the same physics: No double jumps, and if the height of your jump is too high you'll die. The death music is different, too. Basically, you collect keys to unlock doors, and there's only one save. It's annoying, and can be tricky because of the weird physics, but it's not really hard.
The last part is another avoidance, and the only thing I actually liked in this game. It's nicely made, visually good, and has a cool music. It's quite easy, as well.
It doesn't really feel like a game, it feels like 4 things that don't fit together were glued at each other for some reason. Even so, since it's not too long, and nothing's too bad, it's probably worth playing through for the avoidance. Would recommend.

Rating based on normal mode.
Cool-looking fangame where The Kid starts in the extreme past and advances further and further towards the future as the game progresses. The platforming is good, although some saves seem a bit out of place, or just meh compared to everything else in the game. There are plenty of secrets to explore, to the point where you might get lost if you're not careful.
Like Boshy, it has a character-switching system. You can become The Guy, Solgryn, Link, Boshy and many other characters, as long as you manage to find these characters and unlock them. There's also an ez-mode with helpful blocks and weakened bosses, but I don't really recommend it, unless you're only playing this game for the K2 challenge, since it skips a lot of pattern from some bosses. And finally, there's a built-in autofire, like in Best Guy, which is perfectly useful even for people who can mash, as you'll need to use all of your focus and fingers to fight against the bosses, not to press X like crazy. You can turn off the autofire at the options if you feel like showing off, but honestly, it's more than just pointless, and will only make the game less enjoyable. If you want a bigger challenge, try Lunatic mode, it's more worth it.
The game shines at its bosses, and there are bosses scattered everywhere in this game. Mini-Bosses and Normal Bosses that keep you from progressing, Secret Bosses (Often found within a secret screen/stage) that will give you new characters, and even The Game Terminators, hidden rupees with mysterious powers, some of them being extremely strong, all of them found within a weird 'secret' point. Every single boss in Time Machine is extremely pattern-heavy and most of them are always moving at huge speeds, despite the huge size of some. The patterns are quite well-made (With some excepetions), but when the bosses are RNG-heavy, things become a bit more...Unfair. That's because, while the patterns are fair and there's always a way to escape (Easier or harder), the same doesn't happen to some of the RNG attacks. Sonic + Mario, and Solgryn, are some great examples of that, they often give impossible RNG at specific attacks, and all you can do is reset and hope that this time you get something doable.
But these bosses have more to offer than just simple pattern and RNG. They're really good-looking, and some of them use their patterns in unique ways, like Ryu, whose floor-destroying attacks will force you to think twice before coming up with an effective strategy, and Sonic + Mario, whose teamwork will force you time your jumps very well. All of that, of course, at insane speeds. Time Machine has some of the most fast-paced bosses I've seen, which is really good because nothing takes too long, something very useful when it comes to pattern-heavy bosses, so that it doesn't take you too long for no reason at all.
The only reason why it doesn't score higher is because of the unfair RNG at some bosses, and because some of the platforming could be better (And because the adventures of the Kid are to save 'her', and 'she' is only shown at the game's intro - an awesome intro, it should be mentioned -, and never again). The bosses are some of my favorite in fangames, and they're one of the best ways for a beginner to start to learn about patterns, as well as to sharpen their reflexes and timing. Highly recommended to anyone.
