It's an interesting idea to use for designing levels, except when your level design is bad. The first jump alone just had me wondering what the thought process was. It's only one screen long, got a few saves in and just could not take it anymore take it anymore. Not so much for the difficulty, but the nature of the difficulty.

Spikes and blocks are 42*42 pixels instead of 32*32, which makes for some rather interesting jumps; however, the 24-pixel high openings can be a pain to get into, especially with a spike above it.
I would probably recommend on the basis that it's interesting.
